Today, I am grateful for...calm mornings.
Good morning! I am looking at starting off the week in a positive way. Waking up, only hitting snooze 7 times, and getting ready was nice even though it is a Monday. Used the last of the coffee creamer this morning and got to school early to listen to music and plan out a little more this quarter. I love being able to listen to some chill music and get organized so that I am not caught having to react to what is happening. I hope you all have a great day!

Today, I am grateful for...the ability to make some food at home.
I made scrambled eggs and Dayt and me. I usually don't eat breakfast but when I eat something healthy or an amount that is actually not just stuffing my face I find myself actually hungry in the morning. I found out that I was under prepared to include everything that I want to include in my loaded scrambled eggs, chorizo, peppers, onions and cholula. Adding those to my grocery list. Next weekend, I want to make an everything omelet...wish me luck! Today, I am grateful for...supporting my family as the AZ Hudson Herd branch!
My brother and his wife have 4 boys. Their 4th was born at the beginning of July. They knew that he was going to be born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and would require multiple heart surgeries after birth. Seeing the support they have recieved from family and friends, their community and people who don't know them but know people who know them is so dope! The next hurdle is coming up fast, Oct. 31st is the scheduled second surgery. All positive vibes and well wishes are welcomed! If you want to support my brothers family by buy some apparel the link is below! JOIN HUDSON'S HERD! Today, I am grateful for...spending time and energy with people who care about me.
These plants represent this feeling. I bought these on my mental health day that I took from school. I think they are beautiful and really start to make my house feel like a home. I love bring green into my spaces because I believe these plants are connected to everything that is happening around them. Through all the crap, many happening because of my decisions, everything will pass and I need to always remember that there will be beautiful on the other side. Life goes on. I want to live my life in a way that will bring joy and peace into others' lives whether at school, home or in the community. Today, I am grateful for...this top 3 school supply!
Working on the computer is so much easier when I don't have to work on the track pad and can use a mouse. One thing that I have found is trying to understand what I need to do my best work. I understand that this can be different for different people but for those of you who prefer the trackpad...weirdos :) jk...kinda. Parents, get this for your students and their frustration with working on computers will go down! Today, I am grateful for...the juicy, spicy chicken that I was able to make in my air fryer.
Since I decided that I need to eat at home a little more the steak and chicken have been slapping! I am now leaning towards meal prepping to have something for my lunches at school instead of just going no breakfast, no lunch and having a big dinner. I hate feeling all tired after eating lunch at school but if the portion is right, this may be good. I want to be intentional about what I do to help feel and be healthy. What I have been doing has not been working so there are changes that need to be made. Today, I am grateful for...being at Tempe High School. This place has so many dope people that I enjoy doing this with. I love the vibe of my classroom and feeling the environment that I have grown. I need more plants but that is process. I want my classroom to be a place that students can breath. I need my classroom to be a safe space for all students to be equally made fun of :) But seriously, being able to spend my day cultivating relationships and presenting opportunities for students to learn about themselves throughout learning about Psychology and american history is dope!
Today, I am grateful for...being involved in creating the new NEA Climate Change and Environmental Justice Micro-Credential. I was asked to be part of the group of six educators from around Arizona to work with NEA on creating this. I was able to meet some dope educators who are passionate about Environmental Justice and how to engage our students in the classroom with this learning. This led to me presenting with Jessie at the Leadership and Growth Summit by AEA. I am passionate about Labor History, Environmental History and Indigenous Peoples' History and when doing this work all three of those areas have to be engaged with! Over 3 million+ members will now be able to choose to engage with this learning!
Today, I am grateful for...being able to experiment with my newish (I have had it for a while but have not put it to use) air fryer. At one point in my life during high school I was thinking about the idea of going to culinary school but ended up not going. I wish I had the skills and another level of patience to be a good cook. I want to be able to have people over and sit down to a good meal and conversation. Over the past 5 months I have been invited over to Scott Madine's for Mondays with Madine and he cooks the delicious food and I bring the drinks! I guess I am smart enough to know where to find good food and good company!
Today, I am grateful for...attending the 2023 Tempe High Homecoming Football game last night. The result was not what we wanted but it was dope to see our athletes compete. Now is the time in Arizona that the weather is beautiful and I am excited to be done with triple digit temps. The second picture is my picture with all my friends :) (they went to the stands to talk with people or the bathroom or concessions...I am just being a joker) I am excited to attend more events throughout this school year!
